The York Record Fair has become a firm fixture for vinyl enthusiasts since its first event in 2022, and the November 2026 edition looks set to be its biggest yet. Spread across two floors in the Knavesmire Stand exhibition space at York Racecourse, it brings together more than 70 specialist sellers with around 200,000 records between them - an impressive haul covering everything from rock and soul to jazz, classical, punk, prog, reggae, metal, electronic, and indie.
As well as vinyl in all its forms, you'll find collectable CDs, music-related books and posters, 78s, and plenty of ephemera for the dedicated collector. Some stalls specialise in particular genres while others cast a wider net, so whether you're hunting down a specific rare pressing or simply enjoying the browse, there's plenty to keep you busy. At £3 on the door and free for under 16s, it's a genuinely affordable day out - and you can easily fill as much or as little time as you like.
The racecourse is easy to reach by car, with free parking on site. It's around a 30-minute walk from York Railway Station, with frequent buses and taxis available if you'd rather not walk. A well-established bi-annual event, the York Record Fair draws collectors from across the region - whether you stay for seven hours or pop in for half an hour, there's sure to be something to take home.
