Every Saturday, Malton's traditional market springs to life in the town's central Market Place, drawing locals and visitors alike with a varied and well-stocked mix of stalls. You'll find everything from fresh produce and artisan food to gifts, interiors, fashion, art and antiques - making it as good for a browse as it is for picking up something special.
Malton has built a well-deserved reputation as one of Yorkshire's finest food towns, and the Saturday market reflects that. Expect quality, variety and a genuinely friendly atmosphere - the kind of market where you end up chatting to the people behind the stalls. With free entry and two hours of free parking available in town, it's a great reason to make a Saturday morning trip out of the city.
On the last Saturday of most months (March to November), the market is joined by a monthly Arts and Crafts Market running alongside, featuring ceramics, illustration, jewellery and more. Check the Visit Malton website or Facebook page for upcoming dates.
