Running every Saturday throughout the season, York Racecourse Car Boot is one of the largest car boot fairs in the area, organised by K&J Brown Promotions. Browsers can wander between rows of stalls hunting for bargains, antiques and collectables, while sellers turn unwanted items into cash on one of the racecourse's wide open spaces.
The relaxed, outdoor setting makes for an easy morning out, with free admission for visitors and plenty of room to browse at a leisurely pace. On-site refreshments and toilets in the grandstand area mean there's no need to dash off early, and the sale has built up a loyal following of regular bargain hunters over the years.
